I’ve a vertical format group stuffed with UI buttons used as menus in my sport. They work properly for mousing over and clicking, and I’m within the means of including keyboard controls.
The problem I’ve is that there seems to be a default management mechanism that strikes the choice when urgent Up or Down on the keyboard, so once I add my very own, the 2 are preventing one another. I do not need this. How can I inform Unity to only enable me to deal with the keyboard inputs for these menus?

Your EventSystem has an “Enter System UI Enter Module” connected to it, which has a default Actions Asset linked to it. That is the place the additional menu actions are coming from.
One answer is to vary the Transfer possibility underneath Motion Property to NONE. It will take away the impression that urgent Up / Down has on menu choice right here, whereas holding the opposite items of this enter chances are you’ll depend upon (mouse place and so on..)
