In Unity, why does a optimistic Z-axis rotation goes counter-clockwise whereas X and Y rotations go clockwise?

When you may have Y and Z pointing up and proper respectively, the rotation is optimistic and the X-axis is pointing in direction of you.

When you may have Z and X pointing up and proper respectively, the rotation is optimistic and the Y-axis is pointing in direction of you.

When you may have Y and X pointing up and proper respectively (I assumed “X and Y” is a typo), the rotation is counter-clockwise and the Z-axis is pointing away from you.

What you wrote, “X up and Y proper”, is equal to having Y pointing up and X pointing left (or, Y pointing down and X pointing proper). This means the Z-axis is now pointing in direction of you, and the rotation will happen clockwise.
