The European Parliament has been a vocal supporter of common chargers with USB Sort-C connectors to scale back the quantity of digital waste produced by the bloc yearly. This week the European Parliament formally ratified (opens in new tab) the brand new regulation beneath which just about all cellular electronics bought within the EU within the coming years must help USB-C charging.
Ranging from 2024, all smartphones, tablets, sport consoles, headphones, keyboards, mice, transportable navigation techniques, e-book readers, transportable audio system, and cameras bought within the EU must include a USB Sort-C port for charging.
