Drawback with Wireshark set up on Apple Ventura MacOS
Simply ran throughout this concern and looks like a bug, however unsure if it’s in MacOS or Wireshark land.
When putting in Wireshark as administrative consumer on Apple Mac OS I put in ChmodBPF a number of instances and obtained no error message. But, Wireshark continued to report that ChmodBPF was not put in and I didn’t have permission to seize packets.
Seems, it’s a must to run it from terminal with sudo:
sudo /Library/Software Assist/Wireshark/ChmodBPF/ChmodBPF
Solved the issue for me and hope Apple doesn’t break the above sooner or later. Numerous safety professionals is not going to be blissful or in a position to do their jobs on a Mac.
