STS4xA from Sensirion is a sequence of digital automotive temperature sensor that is available in a DFN package deal. The sequence at the moment presents two variations: STS41A-AD1B and STS41A-AW1B. Each sensors function an on-chip heater that allows the on-board diagnostics (OBD) and presents performance and plausibility analysis as an alternative of straightforward presence checks. Along with that, the STS41A-AW1B mannequin is able to supplying optionally available wettable flank packaging to assist automated optical ins[ection (AOI).
“The expansion of our next-generation temperature sensor series means more opportunities for our customers to benefit from high precision and reliability in automotive applications. Our STS4xA temperature sensor builds on the established foundation of the STS4x sensor family, delivering a wide supply voltage range and low current consumption while maintaining top performance,” said Matthias Scharfe, product manager for humidity and temperature Sensors at Sensirion.
The STS4xA series is based on the company’s CMOSens Technology, the cost-effective device features an I2C interface for communication and supplies a wide supply voltage range. the compact sensor can be readily integrated into automotive temperature sensing applications. It also meets industry standards, such as 85C/85% RH accelerated life tests. Both the sensors come in a compact package measuring just 1.5×1.5×0.5 mm and can detect a wide range of temperatures from -40 to 125 °C with a typical temperature accuracy of 0.3 °C.
